Privacy Policy

FinTurtle LLC. (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides financial data and information (services) via our website (www.FinTurtle.com) and mobile apps (FinTurtle). This privacy policy informs you how we handle your data if you sign up for our services as a subscriber (free or paid).

  1. Definitions

Personal identity data

The data that can be used to identify an individual. I.e. name, email address, phone #, IP address, Facebook ID, photo, social avatar, etc.

Payment data

The data that is used to make a payment when you sign up for our paid services. I.e. credit card information, address, etc.

Purchase history

Information about when a purchase was made, what product (subscription) was purchased, etc.

Usage data

Your interaction with the product, such as in-app search history, login & logout activities, advertising data, etc. Other usage data also includes crash logs, performance data, and normalized statistics such as location, page views, time spent on pages, etc. collected by Google Analytics or Google Firebase.

App configuration data

Your configuration and settings in the app, such as Alert setting, Chart settings, etc.

Device related data

Device ID, Device model, firmware version, and push token, etc.

Other data

Any other data that isn’t listed above.

  1. How do we collect your data

When you sign up

When you choose email signup, we collect your name and email address directly. When you sign up by connecting your social accounts such as Facebook, Google, Twitter or Apple, we obtain your account info that the social platform agrees to share with us.

When you download our mobile app and sign up for services, we will collect your device id, device model, firmware version and push token, in order to provide the latest software updates.

When you make a payment

We use the Apple App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android to process your payment, and RevenueCat for revenue management. We do not collect or retain your credit card or address information. However, we do track your payment history such as choice of subscription plan, subscription start and end dates, payment method (monthly or annually), in order to provide the services to you. We may or may not facilitate payment receipts that are prepared by the third party payment service.

When you use our website or mobile app

When you start to use our website or mobile app services, we track your login, logout activities, crash events and usage data using cookies. We also have access to normalized usage data via Google Analytics and Google Firebase.

To provide the services you purchased or opted to receive

We use your personal data and payment history information to provide you the level of services that you purchased or opted to receive.

To notify you about product updates, features, and service updates

We will send you operational updates that are related to our software, services and support, in order to maintain and keep you updated about the level of services that you opted to receive.

To send push notification alerts

By signing up for our services, you agree to receive push notification alerts that include but not limited to, stock related alerts, institution related alerts and market related alerts via email or mobile app. You can manage, opt in and opt out such notification alerts in our mobile app.

To send you investment insights, and product promotions

By signing up for our services, you agree to receive investment insights, financial news and updates, product and marketing promotions via email, text or mobile app. You can manage, opt in, opt out such promotions in our mobile app, or by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link that is embedded in the promotional material.

To detect errors and fraud, to improve app performance

We use your data, especially usage data and crash logs, to detect software errors, fraud and to analyze usage patterns, in order to prevent fraud, fix bugs, and improve user experience.

  1. Third party use of your data

We may employ third party entities to provide necessary services for us to develop and manage our business. Our privacy policy doesn’t apply to these third party entities. Instead, they are covered under their own privacy policy. These third party services include but not limited to:

  1. Transfer, share and disclose of data

Except for the third party services that we employed in order to provide our subscription services to you, we don’t transfer or share your data with anyone. However, we may have to disclose your data with authorities for legal, security, and compliance purposes.

  1. Data retention & deletion

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain usage data for internal analysis purposes. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

  1. Data security

The security of your data is extremely important to us. We use https for transport, Google firebase for email or social sign-on based on standard OAuth and open ID for user authentication, and other industry standard technologies for data collection, transmission and storage. The data we collected will be stored securely on Google Cloud in the USA.

While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee 100% data security. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information at all times.

If you have reasons to believe that your information on our app is compromised, please notify us immediately at support@finturtle.com.

If we identify a security breach in our app, we will notify you immediately. By signing up to our services, you give the consent that we can communicate with you via email in such circumstances.

  1. URLs direct to other sites

Our app contains content (such as news, financial reports, SEC forms, market insights, etc.) with URLs pointing to other sites. We don’t share your data with such sites. And we have no control over nor assume any responsibility for their content and practices.

Our data policy does not apply to their sites or services. We suggest you verify and understand their terms of use and privacy policy carefully before visiting their sites or making investment decisions.

  1. Use of services by minors

Our services are not designed to serve minors. We don’t ask about birthday or age information during the signup process. Minors shall not sign up for the membership account without the consent of their parents or guardian. If you are a minor, we suggest you invite your parents or guardians to carefully read this privacy policy, and obtain your parents or guardian’s consent before signing up for our service or providing your personal info to us.

  1. Your data rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You should be able to access and correct your name and email address under the profile settings of your account. If you wish to access, correct or delete your personal data, but couldn’t do so in the app, you may send us a written request via email at support@finturtle.com.

  1. Update to this policy

We may update this policy as needed. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy in our mobile app and on our website.
